ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงาน วันที่ 7 มีนาคม 2568 เวลา 15.00 น. ที่ วัดอภัยเขตตาราม อำเภอบ้านนาสาร จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้ พลเอก พระวรวงศ์เธอ พระองค์เฉลิมศึกยุคล เสด็จแทนพระองค์ ในการพระราชทานเพลิงศพ ร้อยโท ภูวิวัฒน์ คำสง โดยมี พลโท ไพศาล หนูสังข์ แม่ทัพภาคที่ 4 / ผู้อำนวยการรักษาความมั่นคงภายในภาค 4, นายธีรุตม์ ศุภวิบูลย์ผล ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี พร้อมด้วยหัวหน้าส่วนข้าราชการ ทหาร ตำรวจ ญาติพี่น้องและประชาชนเข้าเฝ้ารับเสด็จ

ภายในพิธี พลเอก พระวรวงศ์เธอ พระองค์เฉลิมศึกยุคล ทรงทอดผ้าไตรหน้าหีบศพ พระสงฆ์ 5 รูป บังสุกุล จากนั้นทรงหยิบกระทงข้าวตอกดอกไม้ ดอกไม้จันทน์วางหน้าหีบศพ และประกอบพิธีพระราชทานเพลิงศพ

สำหรับ ร้อยโท ภูวิวัฒน์ คำสง อายุ 41 ปี ภูมิลำเนาอยู่ตำบลปากพูน อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช ได้บรรจุรับราชการทหารในตำแหน่งสุดท้าย ผู้บังคับหมวดปืนเล็กที่ 1 กองร้อยทหารราบที่ 2 สังกัดกองพันทหารราบที่ 2 กรมทหารราบที่ 15 ได้เสียชีวิต เมื่อวันที่ 11 มีนาคม 2568 เวลาประมาณ 09.30 น. จากเหตุคนร้ายไม่ทราบกลุ่มและจำนวน ใช้อาวุธปืนไม่ทราบชนิดและขนาด ลอบยิงเจ้าหน้าที่ทหาร หน่วยเฉพาะกิจกองพันทหารราบที่ 1 ขณะปฏิบัติภารกิจบริเวณหน้าฐานปฏิบัติการ เหตุเกิดบริเวณพื้นที่ หมู่ที่ 1 บ้านสนามบิน ตำบลเขื่อนบางลาง อำเภอบันนังสตา จังหวัดยะลา เป็นเหตุให้เกิดเสียชีวิตดังกล่าว นับได้ว่าเป็นการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ด้วยความกล้าหาญ เสียสละเพื่อปกป้องแผ่นดินไทย ซึ่งการได้รับพระราชทานเพลิงศพในครั้งนี้ นับเป็นพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ แก่ครอบครัว ร้อยโท ภูวิวัฒน์ คำสง อย่างหาที่สุดมิได้

His Royal Highness Prince Chalermseuk Yukol attended on behalf of His Majesty the King for the royal cremation ceremony of Lieutenant Phuwiwat Kamsong, a military officer who died as a result of violent events in the southern border provinces.

Today (March 17, 2025) at 3:00 PM, at Wat Apai Khettharam, Ban Na Sarn District, Surat Thani Province, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun graciously appointed General Prince Chalermseuk Yukol to attend the royal cremation ceremony of Lieutenant Phuwiwat Kamsong. Present at the ceremony were Lieutenant General Phisanu Nusaengsang, Commander of the 4th Army Area / Director of Internal Security Operations Area 4, Mr. Theerut Supawiboonphol, Governor of Surat Thani Province, along with heads of government agencies, military personnel, police, family members, and the public attending to pay their respects.

During the ceremony, General Prince Chalermseuk Yukol placed a monk’s robe on the coffin. Five monks performed the prayers, after which His Royal Highness placed a tray of rice offerings and sandalwood flowers in front of the coffin before conducting the royal cremation ceremony.

Lieutenant Phuwiwat Kamsong, aged 41, from Pakpoon Sub-district, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, had served in the military until his last position as the commander of the 1st Small Arms Platoon, 2nd Infantry Company, 2nd Infantry Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment. He passed away on March 11, 2025, at around 09:30 AM due to an attack by unknown assailants using an unspecified type and caliber of firearm while he was on duty at the front of an operation base in the area of Village No. 1, Ban Sanam Bin, Khuan Bang Lang Sub-district, Bannang Sata District, Yala Province. His death is a tragic loss, but it highlights his courageous duty and sacrifice in protecting the Kingdom of Thailand. The royal cremation of Lieutenant Phuwiwat Kamsong is a great honor and a sign of immense royal benevolence for his family
